Our school collaborated with Mott Hall in a program which placed students in a community service capacity working with special education students. Additional programs such as the Junior Tennis League, African Dance Club, Boys and Girls Scouts and peer mediation have enhanced student and parent involvement. 1996 reading scores increased by 2 percentage points. Our school works diligently each year to improve student achievement. The Spring 1998 scores rendered a 7.5 increase in readin and an increase of 7.8 points in Math. Our peer mediation team has enhanced student self esteem and sense of community. We strive to meet the standards for the next Milllenium through an extended day program geared to teaching literacy in the content areas.
