This school has grown from a small option school to a neighborhood school with over 525 children. It is now in its eighth year. The teachers on staff offer a great deal of staff development to other schools. Children, parents, and teachers write a book review column for The New Advocate - a children's literature journal. Teachers use a workshop approach to all curriculum areas including language arts, math, science and social studies. Students use all of their literacies to enrich the quality of life in their school and in their city. Children, teachers and parents work collaboratively to create a visually rich and inviting setting.
